Rehabilitation centre in Bracknell warns of super drug

A batch of “Mephedrone” also known as meow meow or MCAT has been reported in Bracknell.

The illegal drug is highly addictive and can lead to over-stimulation of the heart and nervous system leading to fits.  People reporting the drug in the area say that it is a particularly strong form and looks like tiny crystals or shards of glass.

The effects of the drug are euphoria, talkativeness and feelings of empathy but it can also cause sudden weight loss and trigger mental health problems such as fear and aggression.  It has similar addictive qualities to cocaine but is far more addictive.

The local rehab service has reported an increase of people contacting them with problems with this drug in the past week.
