Operation Glacial with 100 Surrey Police officers involved was set up to stop a huge narcotics network. Following intelligence leads they staged dawn raids in Elmbridge, Spelthorne and south west London. The intelligence received suggested that heroin and crack cocaine was being supplied in these areas. In total 14 men were arrested in the raids.
The two men from Walton, Philip Douglas and Anthony Platt, pleaded guilty to supplying class A drugs.
“It is well recognised class A drugs destroy lives - not just the lives of the drugs users themselves but those people who have become victims of crime through the users need to obtain funds to pay for their addiction,” temporary neighbourhood superintendent Sharon Bush said.
