Dougie Poynter, bass player for the British boy band gets help from rehab

3rd December 2011

British boy band star bass-player Dougie Poynter found help with a drink problem this year in Rehab.  He went in during March'11 after he broke up with his girl-friend, pop-star Frankie Sandford, feeling like an "empty shell".  He admitted recently, during the U.K. reality show 'I'm a Celebrity - Get me Out of Here', that he checked into Rehab. due to loving drink "just a bit too much".

He said that for years he had felt sad all the time, and loved being alone to get "battered", (drunk).  He finally went for help and was sent off to Rehab.  He reported it was hard to do, "really hard in fact" but that it was one of the best things he's ever done.
