Dominican Republic sees rise in people seeking drug rehabilitation

The Dominican Republic has traditionally been a mid point for drug trafficking to the international drug trade. But now rehabilitation centres in the country are struggling to keep up with the rise in crack and cocaine addiction.

The rise in availability of the drug and the lowering of the price has caused devastation to lives in the country.

The problem is not just limited to the Dominican Republic. Other countries in the area are seeing a rise in local drug addiction problems.
